Offered for sale is a near mint copy of Caravan's superb second album - "If I Could Do It All Over Again, I'd Do It All Over You" It is an original first pressing on Decca SKL-5052 1970 Matrix nos:-ZAL-9752P-2W / ZAL-9753P-4W
This is the mega rare version with the album title misprinted on the sleeve, (please see photos). The title reads- "If I Had To Do It All Over Again, I'd Do It All Over Again" Only the very first pressing run featured this sleeve, before the mistake was corrected on all later issues, consequently, this version is now very hard to find, particularly in such fine condition. With regard to condition, this example looks virtually new; the front sleeve laminate has a beautiful glossy sheen, with minimal ring-wear; there is minimal creasing and lifting of the laminate; the rear sleeve and spine are similarly virtually unblemished. There is no writing or major marks anywhere on the sleeve.(Please study the photos I've included). The record is again virtually unmarked and sounds absolutely wonderful. It has been cleaned on a Keith Monks record cleaning machine, and I've listened to it on an Ariston RD80Sl turntable, using a Linn Basik Plus arm and Audio Technica cartridge played through a pair of Spendor BC2A powered monitors and a Nad pre-amp.I can confirm, there is virtually no surface noise, and the music comes across vibrantly with plenty of depth and power. It sounds noticeably better than the remastered CD version. The record labels are clean and bright, and there's no discernible spindle-wear,(again,please see photos). As for the music, I would imagine most people reading this will already be aware of it's quality; it's certainly one of the best, if not the best Caravan records;it has a timelessness that even some non-prog fans might find appealing.
