Captain Beefheart - Complete Trout Mask Replica LP set on original Straight label

This double stereo LP set by Don Van Vliet and his magic "friends," is the original 1969 release with the booklet and with the vinyl numbers matching the numbers on the cover (STS 1053). The cover is beautiful, as well as both the records. Usually the records are fine with old TMR copies, but the covers are beat, because honestly, for many folks this was more fun to look at than listen to. (But I did.) This original cover is frameable: It has very little wear, it is extra clean, the color is beautiful, there is NO RING WEAR, only a little bumping and splitting (the 2 top corner points by the openings are slightly split, the worst about an inch or so (see the pictures). This copy has no other flaws. The spine is perfect. The vinyl is near mint, all four sides. Both original black Straight record sleeves are there, hardly used. (I have the records in plastic sleeves.) The 6-page, tri-fold booklet, with the Captain's lyrics and pictures by "The Mascara Snake," has been handled and shows signs of aging and some minor wrinkling, but is not torn or written on.

I am confident you will not see a nicer original copy--certainly not a nicer original cover.

For perfect clarity: Both record labels read STS 1053 and the cover says STS 1053. This is a first edition of the album. I believe the booklets only came with the first edition.
