Description
Shortly after the beginning of World War II, Capitol Records was formed and had one advantage over their New York based competitors - the access to Hollywood movie and singing stars. Every year, the folks at Capitol would send out Christmas promos to record dealers and jukebox sellers as a way of thanking them for their support. Keeping those folks happy would keep Capitol in business. Many of these promos were passed down to family members or doomed to the trash bin.

Made on paper presumably because of wartime shortages, this 78 RPM features Capitol president (and songwriter par excellence) Johnny Mercer singing a version of "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" reworked as "Capitol Is Going To Town".
All the names of every artist on the Capitol label at that time.

#4 GREETINGS a 14 CARROT CHRISTMAS from Capitol Records This paper promo features appearances by Mel Blanc as Bugs Bunny (who manages to work in a plug for his best-selling album "Bugs Bunny Stories For Children") and Johnny Mercer again to wish everyone Merry Christmas from Capitol. Quick but fantastic! Signatures of all of the artsits from 1948 on the back.
CONDITION is outstanding for promos from 70 years ago. These are history making! with ORIGINAL paper sleeves...even BUGS BUNNY'S sleeve (nearly impossible to find.
