While Lee Roy Abernathy was learning to play the piano like one of the ’’VAUGHAN HAPPY TWO” . . . Shorty Bradford was learning to sing four parts like the other member of the famous ’’VAUGHAN HAPPY TWO.” Just to set your mind at ease . . . they were A. B. Sebren, writer of the song ’’Rocking On The Waves” . . on this recording . . . and . . . Cully Wilson. He was without a doubt the easiest singer I ever knew until ’’SHORTY” Bradford. Since GOSPEL CONCERTS are PAID ADMISSION and the public does not expect to PAY FOR RELIGION . . . ’’THE HAPPY TWO” have been the number one entertainers in the field for 35 years . . . with the ex- ception of a few years when’’Shorty” was stricken with arthritis . . which made it next to impossible to travel.
