Description
Wooden Nickel is an unofficial live recording of CSN&Y from 1970. catalogue number is CSN 101.
from Discogs:
Sound desk recording. Recorded live at the Big Sur music festival, Big Sur, California September 13th & 14th 1969. Plain pink labels, with CSN 101 A & CSN 101 B in small black lettering on them. Plain white sleeve. Pressed on heavy vinyl.
record has been cleaned on an Okki Nokki and play tested.
there's some surface noise on the run-in grooves and inbetween tracks, and the occasional pop. overall though, it's not a bad listen for such an old record. i would grade it as being between VG and VG plus.
as you can see from the pictures this copy has hand written labels and a customised sleeve. the artist and title 'Wooden Knickel' (sic) has been rendered in Letraset. there's also a black and white live picture of the band that's been glued onto the sleeve. i'm guessing that the original owner of the album has done this. 1970s bootlegs were often quite basic so perhaps he or she decided to get creative. personally, i don't mind this as i think it adds to it's charm. the labels are also hand written. the label for side A is slightly smudged.
the record has been labelled up wrongly as Side A is in fact side B.
i would grade the sleeve as GOOD plus.
