CREEPY JOHN THOMAS
on the original RCA RECORDS 45 SF 8061 from 1969 in STEREO
Wild and freakbeat'y psych oriented psounds here - irreverent as punk and hairy as Edgar Broughton Band or The Deviants. 'Oz' and 'Ink' would surely have approved!!
This great record illustrates perfectly the way music was moving by the late sixties; bands had finally found their own styles and sounds, and were free enough to shrug off any pressure to follow on from The Beatles' dominating influences - and record lables were now encouraging individuality by letting them get on with it.
As healthy a scene as can be, in my opinion, and it bore much fruit too.
Not only from bands, but for producers and engineers, forging their own attitudes and ideas cut into these vinyl masterpieces. In this case, it was Conny Plank - now renowned for both inventive and well-produced music.
And so it was that records like this were recorded, vibrant with unfettered and enthusiastic imagination. It also makes this sound almost timeless, unbound by easy comparisons or predictability.

Great tracks, great playing, soaked in fuzz psychedelic guitar and music that really leaps out from the grooves.
Especially mind-boggling if listened through headphones!

This is a rare collectible, and especially in this nice condition.
The vinyl is in NM- shape, plays through wonderfully on both sides and strong full sound, full shine almost as new. One superficial mark visible, otherwise this would be just-about Mint.
The bold psychedelic artwork laminated sleeve is VG+, having general signs of handling or storage, some edge-wear evident.
Definitely a worthwhile album, and a copy that's 'a keeper'!
