UK band The Creation made waves in the mid-60s with a series of inventive singles that wrung the then still part-potential energies of Mod through the ripe, radiodelic medium of pop. This new Demon Records box set presents ten 7" singles of such post-rock & roll R&R; from June 1966 and April 1968, the band released six standup singles, from 'Making Time', later picked up as the theme for Channel 4's The Great Pottery Throw Down, to 'Painter Man', an in-the-raw render of stereoised day-in-the-strife-of-an-artist: "went to college, studied art / to be an artist, make a start / studied hard, gained my degree / but no-one seemed to notice me..."
