ITEM DESCRIPTION:
ARTIST: CREAM
TITLE: DISRAELI GEARS
LABEL: ATCO
YEAR: 1967
CATALOG NUMBER: SD 33-232
VINYL GRADE: SEALED (Vinyl is assumed to be in MINT condition)
JACKET GRADE: 7.5 VG++ (A few imperfections knock the grade down a bit on this one. First off, there's a little tear (no more than 1") on the shrink in the upper left corner near the punch hole - see photo. Oh, did I say punch hole? That's number 2. This one went to the bargain bin at some point. Some light creasing along the top ring of the jacket. The shrink has become split about 2" on bottom seam, but overall shrink is sill tight. Coloring on spine has faded due to light/sun exposure. So, while it's not perfect, I'm still giving this one an above average grade.)
INNER SLEEVE: SEALED
ADDITIONAL INFO: You won't come across something like this very often! A true early rock and roll, proto-metal classic still sealed since it's purchase. How do I know this is an original pressing? Well, my auction title says original pressing, and it is - meaning it's the original ATCO pressing from the late 60's. But as far as first runs or matrix numbers or any of that stuff, I can't give you any of those answers. There is no barcode on the back and the price of $1.97 is in line with the going rate for a new record in the late 60's. I compared the jacket to my original ATCO copy and can't find any differences. ONE THING OF NOTE - on the front of both this jacket and the one in my personal collection, it says "STEREO" and on the back of the jacket in upper right corner, it says "MONO" underneath the ATCO logo - please see photo for more details. My disc is a stereo copy, so I am assuming this is a common misprint and the one you are receiving is in fact a STEREO copy. I don't know much about the different pressings of this record I am making a semi-educated guess. If you know otherwise, please send me a message so I can post it on this auction page. This was acquired from a single owner collection and he took great care of his records. If you have any questions, please ask before bidding. I can send you high resolution photos if you like, just send me a message through this auction and provide me with your email address.
PLEASE SAVE ME A FAVORITE SELLER AND BOOKMARK MY AUCTIONS!
PICKY, FUSSY, ANAL BIDDERS NEED NOT APPLY. GO SHOP ELSEWHERE. CLICK THE BACK BUTTON NOW. SERIOUSLY. I'VE RECENTLY HAD SOMEONE TAKE A MICROSCOPE TO MY RECORDS. THOSE PEOPLE NEED TO GO SHOP AT RECORD STORES SO THEY CAN "INSPECT" THE VINYL DISCS BEFORE THEY BUY THEM. I TAKE A LOT OF TIME CLEANING EVERY RECORD, GRADING THEM IN EITHER DIRECT DAYLIGHT OR A LAMP WITH A 100W BULB, AND TAKING ACCURATE PHOTOS. I GENERALLY DO NOT ACCEPT RETURNS. RECORDS MAKE NOISE WHEN YOU PLAY THEM. THERE'S DUST IN THOSE GROOVES THAT YOU CAN'T SEE WITH THE NAKED EYE, AND IF YOU DON'T OWN A PROFESSIONAL RECORD CLEANER, THAT'S NOT MY PROBLEM. I USE A WET CLEANING SYSTEM WITH AN ANTI-STATIC MICROFIBER CLOTH TO CLEAN THESE AND IT BY NO MEANS IS PERFECT. SURFACE NOISE AND DUST COME WITH THE TERRITORY. THE OLDER THEY ARE, THE MORE PRONE THEY ARE TO DUST AND SURFACE WEAR. RECORDS ARE NOT CD'S OR MP3's. I REALLY DO NOT LIKE HAVING TO EXPLAIN MYSELF LIKE THIS BUT A COUPLE OF ROTTEN APPLES HAVE RECENTLY SPOILED THE WHOLE BUSHEL. I HAVE A FULL TIME JOB AND I DON'T THIS FOR THE MONEY. I DO THIS FOR FUN AND I WANT YOU TO HAVE FUN TOO, SO PLEASE - PLAY BY THE RULES, KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GETTING YOURSELF INTO, AND LET'S ENJOY OUR HOBBY. SOUND GOOD?
HERE'S HOW I GRADE:
10 – MINT (Sealed, perfect condition.)
9 – Nr MINT (Like new with only a hint of wear.)
8 – EX (Very few blemishes. Maybe a couple light scratches on the vinyl or a few light creases to the jacket. Serious collectors will be satisfied with this grade.)
7 – VG+ (Average, used condition. Most of my vinyl and jackets are in this condition. Vinyl will show playwear/scratches, but nothing deep and it will play through fine. You may encounter a "pop" or two or some light background noise. The jacket may have creasing, edgewear, ringwear, or corner dings but nothing significant.)
6 – VG (Vinyl/jacket may will show a fair to moderate amount of wear .Vinyl may show a number of scratches and you will likely experience some background noise during playback, but NO skips. The jacket may show a fair amount of wear in the form of creasing, edgewear, ringwear, writing, seam splits, etc.)
5 – VG- (Rarely will I sell anything of this grade unless it is a collector item with some value. Moderate to heavy wear on the vinyl and/or jacket.)
I WILL DETAIL ANY IMPERFECTIONS TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY IN MY ITEM DESCRIPTION.
