Here we have a damn near pristine copy of The Crazy World of Arthur Brown by the very same on the Track label from 1968. The vinyl is flawless; in fact;, if there's a fingerprint anywhere on it, I'll be to blame. No marks around the centre holes and lovely clean matt black and silver labels with a faint inner ridge. You will scarcely believe the quality of the sound here, it's like a brand new pressing. Produced by Kit Lambert with his associate (only Pete Townshend), it's a real psychedelic work of art (black variety). It is extremely difficult to find a copy of this 42 year old album in any sort of reasonable order, but this came from the collection of a man who was painstakingly careful with his vinyl. This is no exception. The dead wax matrices end with A/1 and B/1 which suggests a first pressing. The disc weighs in at 150 gms and comes in a poly-lined innersleeve with a warning that plastic bags can be dangerous, and the assertion that it was Made in England. Where else? The cover has beautifully clean laminate on the front with no lifting, solidly adhered all over. There is very minor wrinkling to the front, one on Arthur's top lip, the other on the bottom lip. The back is a delight; so many of these get to look really shabby after a short while, but not so this one. Clean black and silver scary picture of a starey Arthur with no writing or scuffing; totally clean. The only downer is that the glue has given up at the top but this can be fixed. This truly is a beautiful copy of this rare LP, a Stereo edition which is much rarer than the Mono. Check the pictures, fire your questions at me, I'll happily answer all. You may never find a better copy of this great work of wierdness.
