LP : Venus Gang – Galactic Soul

Original German pressing from 1978 on HANSA, 25885 OT. Unique German space-ship cover, releases from other countries have a different artwork showing 3 women. Highly recommended space-disco project by Jean Pierre Massiera, who is one of the most interesting and also a bit mysterious figures of French disco/prog/freak-beat etc. He used to change his name into different pseudonyms like Charlie Mike Sierra, Jean-Pierre Areisam, Jesus, JPM etc. His was involved in Les Maledictus Sound, Visitors, Human Egg, Sex Convention, Herman's Rocket, The Horrific Child, JPM and Co. and much more awesome groups/projects. „Galactic Soul“ is an outstanding Cosmic Disco delight, listen to some great tracks on the youtube channel !

Condition: the record looks mint- to mint-- in daylight & in normal artificial light, it looks mint-- to ex++ under a very strong halogen lamp. It plays in mint- nearly all of the time, there are only 2 exceptions: in the intro of the ballad “Take me back to my planet” there are some seconds with a few low to medium tics, the same is the case in the intro of “Dies Irae” but even less. The completet rest of the LP plays in mint-, I overall grade the playback due to the 2 imperfections as ex-. The cover shows just a little shelfwear, all seams/spine are intact with some rub in some parts, front & back are fine, there's slightest rub on the corners; overall ex-.

Zustand: die LP sieht bei Tageslicht & unter einer normalen Lampe mint- bis mint-- aus, unter einer sehr hellen Halogenlampe sieht sie mint-- bis ex++ aus. Sie spielt fast durchgehend in mint-, mit 2 Ausnahmen: im Intro der Ballade “Take me back to my planet” sind auf der Länge von ein paar Sekunden einige leise bis mittellaute tics, dasselbe passiert im Intro vom “Dies Irae” aber noch kürzer. Der komplette Rest der LP spielt durchgehend in mint-, auf Grund der 2 erwähnten Stellen bewerte ich die LP als akkustisch ex-. Das Cover hat nur ganz leichte Lagerspuren, alle Kanten sind intakt mit etwas Abrieb an einigen Stellen, Vorder- & Rückseite sind fast top, ganz leichter Abrieb an den Ecken; insgesamt in ex-. alle Platten habe ich professionell gereinigt und angehört (meist ganz, manchmal in Ausschnitten). Kommen mit neuer Außen- & Innenhülle !

Grading & Cleaning:

  • the record has been cleaned on my professional HANNL record cleaning machine

  • after that I playgraded it (completely or at least in parts) on my Rega Planar 9, Moving Coil cartridge by EINSTEIN:TU-3 Super Fine Line ( please consider that the playback might differ a bit depending on your own equipment )

  • I also visually graded the record in daylight, in normal artificial light & under a strong halogen lamp

  • only an unplayed record is mint, the highest grading for a used record is mint- ! My basic gradings are: mint – ex – vg

  • cleaned records are stored in a new deluxe innersleeve and they are placed in a new PVC protection-sleeve
