Philly fill fulfiller Norman Connors - in other words, infamous drummer, producer and bandleader best known for 'You Are My Starship' - first cut 'Take It To The Limit' a little later in 1980. A radiant slice of Philly disco soul fronted by vocalist Adaritha and steeped in Connors' plush studio sensibilities, now New York's Joaquin 'Joe' Claussell now steps in with a masterful rework on this Arista 12", pulling the original like dough out to a feverish, peak-hour, spiritual housoul jam. Contrasting Claussell's many live-element-layered, epiphanic , it's a refreshing slice of ease and occasional edit work from the respected redoer, though he doesn't skip a beat, ground-laying the song's original beat in well-dug dancefloor soils.
