Description
This is a fine original U.S. pressing copy of a rare 1968 LP by Brooklyn-born and Phoenix-based musician and producer Mike Condello and his group. Condello had become the producer and music director for one of the nation's longest running locally produced children's programs, the Wallace and Ladmo show. He had also released some singles, and in 1967 put out a couple of parodic EPs under the Sgt. Pepper-inspired name Commodore Condello's Salt River Navy Band (the song "Soggy Cereal," included on the third volume of the Pebbles series, appears on the second one). He and his compadres play it straight -- or rather, hip -- on this album, which includes an infectious mix of harmony pop and psychedelic rock with occasional phasing and other effects ("Oh No," one of the LP's standout tracks, has been comped a few times). The jacket has one main flaw: two date stamps on the back cover (see photo). Otherwise it is close to M- with light ring, corner, and seam wear: overall EX. Visually, the disc is clean with some light scuffing/loss of glossiness. Side 1 plays with occasional light surface noise, while side 2 plays close to M-: overall EX+.
I am in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
