This Auction is for The Complete 1959 CBS Charles Mingus Sessions - 4 LP Box Set Limited Edition of 2,500 (Out of Print) in Very Good/Near Mint Condition.

The Complete 1959 CBS Charles Mingus Sessions, a four-LP set that contained (nearly) everything Mingus recorded for the label during that pivotal year. All the music on the set was wonderful, but its strict adherence to chronological session order made it difficult for anyone outside academics to enjoy, especially since Mingus Ah Um and Mingus Dynasty, the two albums culled from these sessions, were among his best, tightest LPs.


Along with five audiophile vinyl records, this set includes a 16-page booklet with an introduction by BRian Priestley and commentary and music analysis by Sy Johnson as well as original liner notes and photos from the original sessions and elsewhere.

A great opportunity to own such a rare, out-of-print LIMITED EDITION LP COLLECTION.
