Cast recording updated to include Comden-Green musical numbers from 1960's and 70's. Recorded as The complete 1977 Broadway Performance as presented on stage. Cast: Bert Lahr, Dolores Gray, Elliot Reid, Colette Marchand.  ALBUM WAS PERSONALLY SIGNED BY: BETTY COMDEN & ADOLPH GREEN while I was in their presence.  CONDITION: Vinyl= VG. Cover=VG.

A Party with Betty Comden and Adolph Green is a musical revue with a book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green and music by Leonard Bernstein, Jule Styne, André Previn, Saul Chaplin, and Roger Edens.

The performance was composed of material written by Comden and Green for stage shows, films, and their former comedy troupe The Revuers.

Produced by the Theatre Guild, the original Broadway production opened on December 23, 1958 at the John Golden Theatre, where it ran for 82 performances. It won the Obie Award for Best Musical [1]. An original cast recording was released by Angel Records [2].

After four previews, a revival opened on February 10, 1977 at the Morosco Theatre, where it remained for six weeks before transferring to the Little Theatre to complete its 92-performance run. The duo then took the show on tour; a revival cast album recorded live at the Arena Theatre in Washington, D.C. was released by STET Records.

 Betty Comden & Adolph Green where long-time collaborators who penned the screenplays and songs for some of the most beloved movie musicals, particularly as part of Arthur Freed's production unit at Metro Goldwyn Mayer, during the genre's heyday AND many of Broadways best musicals. Many people thought the pair were married; they were not, but they shared a unique comic genius and sophisticated wit that enabled them to forge a six-decade-long partnership that produced some of Hollywood and Broadway's greatest hits.
