Background -

This mono LP is the earliest vintage issued - a rarest Columbia "6-EYE" record. It features music written and conducted by Igor Stravinsky accompanied by the Philharmonic-Symphony Orchestra of New York - The Firebird Suite and The Rite of Spring. Superb performances throughout! The LP was made in the USA and issued in the early 1960s. Not a perfect record due to some marks on the vinyl, but a nice copy of a rare item nonetheless (see below for details).

    CONDITION Details:

    The LP jacket is in excellent minus condition! The jacket is tight and clean, with a 2" seam split at the top seam. The corners and seams are a bit weakened due to age and shelf wear. The colors on the jacket are sharp. Considering the age of the LP, the jacket is in near excellent minus condition (see pictures with this listing as they are of the actual item). 

    The LP is in very good condition - alas, not a perfect record. The vinyl does have some marks on it, although most are simply spider marks caused by sliding the LP in and out of the inner sleeve. There are a couple of marks that may sound on some audio systems depending on the sensitivity of your gear. However, the LP does retain a lot of the original gloss and sheen. The LP does not have many serious spindle marks and comes with the original inner sleeve. That said, acquiring a vintage Columbia 6-EYE LP like this is for the performance and rarity of the LP, not necessarily for the sound quality.

    A Short Note About LP GRADING -

    • Mint = Only used for sealed items.
    • Near Mint = Virtually flawless in every way.
    • Near Mint Minus = Item has some minor imperfections, some audible.
    • Excellent = Item obviously played and enjoyed with some noise.
    • Very Good Plus = Many more imperfections which are noticeable and obtrusive.

    For best results, always thoroughly clean your LPs before playing them.

    LPs can be audiophile quality pressings (any collector of fine MFSL, half speeds, direct to discs, Japanese/UK pressings etc., can attest to the difference a quality pressing can make to an audio system).
