Description

You are bidding on nine late 1950s/early 1960s LPs on the original turquoise/silver stereo label design, plus one slightly later stereo press on the 1963/4 black stereo label design:
RAY MARTIN & HIS ORCHESTRA: Million Dollar Melodies (Columbia, SCX 3255, 1958, LP, turquoise/silver stereo label design + gold/red stereo sticker on sleeve)
THE HAWAIIAN HULA BOYS: Hi-Fi In Hawaii (Columbia, SCX 3258, 1958, LP, turquoise/silver stereo label design + gold/red stereo sticker on sleeve)
RUSS CONWAY: Family Favourites (Columbia, SCX 3272, 1959, LP, turquoise/silver stereo label design + gold/red stereo sticker on sleeve)
VICTOR SILVESTER: Another Party With Victor Silvestor (Columbia, SCX 3343, 1960, LP, turquoise/silver stereo label design)
RUSS CONWAY: Party Time (Columbia, SCX 3345, 1960, LP, turquoise/silver stereo label design)
BIG BEN BANJO BAND: Get Happy (Columbia, SCX 3408, 1961, LP, turquoise/silver stereo label design)
VICTOR SILVESTER & HIS BALLROOM ORCHESTRA: Sing And Dance With Victor Silvestor (Columbia, SCX 3412, 1961, LP, turquoise/silver stereo label design)
RUSS CONWAY: Happy Days (Columbia, SCX 3413, 1961, LP, turquoise/silver stereo label design)
BIG BEN BANJO BAND: Big Ben Salutes Irving Berlin (Columbia, SCX 3468, 1963, LP, turquoise/silver stereo label design)
MANUEL & HIS MUSIC OF THE MOUNTAINS: Mountain Carnival (Columbia, SCX 3402, 1963/4 copy, LP, later black label design)
All of these were very well looked after by the original owner, and all still have bright playing surfaces and clean labels. All came from the same very nice condition collection (a few more records will be forthcoming in other bundles) - the only difference is the later press Manuel LP, which came from a different collection, and which I've added simply to round the bundle up to an even number. See the photos for sleeve conditions.
The state of the inner sleeves alone shows that these have been very well looked after and all records play at EX - with a couple of minor caveats. SCX 3258, despite playing at EX for the most part, has a light scrape on the intro to side 2, soon over. A few of the LPs have light rumble on the intros to sides. There are also a few random pops here and there, caused by the odd bit of detritus that's stuck itself to the playing surfaces, so a wash might make these sound even better than they already do.
*    *    *    * Records generally have hairline marks from going in and out of sleeves - I do not mention these unless they cause audible noise. All records are play tested unless explicitly stated otherwise. Most of the records I am selling play at "Excellent" or "Very Good" as per Record Collector grading. Any specific defects are otherwise described in the listing. Please look at the photos carefully for condition of sleeves/labels.
All items won, up to a value of £50.00, will be sent as Royal Mail 'signed for'. If items are bid above £50.00 (or multiple items combine to more than £50), they will be sent as Royal Mail Special Delivery, so that parcels are correctly insured against loss or damage in transit. If you win multiple items, please wait for me to invoice with correct postage. Note that the postage costs stated include packaging costs. Where possible, packaging will be recycled but sturdy/secure.
Combined postage *for UK buyers only* - 6 single LPs costs the same to post as 1 single LP. Note that if you win items in multiple formats, (e.g., an LP and a CD), these have to be sent as multiple parcels (though I can bundle up 7" records with an LP).
*Non-UK bidders* please note that I use eBay's Global Shipping Programme, which means every item won has to be packaged and sent separately so combined postage is not possible.
Non-paying high bidders will be blocked from bidding on future items.
*    *    *    * Unless stated otherwise, all items are from my own collection. Most has been in storage for nearly 20 years. Lockdowns made me wonder why I have multiple copies of records that I will never listen to. There are about 8,000 more items to come from my rambling progressive, jazz fusion, folk, blues, 1950s stereo classical and easy listening, psychedelic, reggae, ambient, spoken word, comedy, railway, field recordings, electronic and occasionally just plain 'out there' collection.
