Description
A superb copy of “Those Who Are About to Die Salute You”, the debut album from Jon Hiseman's Colosseum released on the Fontana label in 1969.
The vinyl grades EX+ and retains a bright sheen. It looks seldom played with just the faintest of hairlines visible only under strong light. Thorough play testing reveals an excellent vibrant sound with barely a pop audible in the entire album. Generally terrific audio from the heavy vinyl, certainly without repetitive clicks or crackle.
The gatefold sleeve also grades EX+, being bright, clean, firm and unmarked by any writing or sticker residue. The sepia printed inside gatefold is similarly unblemished. There is no apparent shelf or edge wear.
The inner sleeve is the original white poly-lined sleeve that Fontana were using at the time. Again it is in excellent condition.
The labels are unmarked by writing and there is only light spindle marking. The matrix prints read 886765 1Y//1 & 886765 2Y//1 making this superb copy a genuine early pressing.
Without doubt an exceptional copy of this classic album!
Postage will be First Class Signed For (£4.90) or Special Delivery (£6.90) if requested.
At the moment I regret that I am only posting to the UK and just Paypal please.
Many thanks for looking!
For your information the gradings I use are as follows:-
Mint (M) - Brand New (Sealed)
Near mint (NM) - Looks almost unplayed * Cover almost brand new
Excellent (EX) - Maybe a light scuff but otherwise great condition * Cover will have some wear/slight crease/faint ring wear etc
Very good (VG) - Could have scuffing and some light scratches etc *Cover might have some creasing/fading/ring wear/marks or writing but still reasonable condition
Good (G) - Should play through ok but will have plenty of scratches etc * Cover could be ripped/stained/unglued etc
Fair - Very ordinary/ Might play but most likely just for the collection* Cover will be pretty terrible.
+, ++ or - (minus) after the grading denote variations within a grade.
