Description
Here is an extremely scarce chance to bid on one of the most sought after and cherished "lost" albums of the early 70s - Colin Hare's "March Hare" on the wonderful Penny Farthing label.
Those who do not know of Hare's genius, his contribution to 60s pop and the awesome esteem in which this gorgeous LP is held need only to do a quick Google search on the artist and title and see the worldwide respect it has gained since it's original and ignored issuing all those thirty seven years ago. Like Vashti Bunyon's "Diamond Day this really was a terrific record that died a lonely death upon release.
Now of course we all know better and it's super rare appearance on eBay causes genuine excitement among serious collectors.
I am happy to say that this is a beautiful gleaming original copy of Colin's album right down to it's spotless pink labels. The vinyl is truly gleaming, glossy mint minus - indeed looking at it at my window just now it is very tempting to say this copy has never been played. If it was then the owner must have held it in velvet and cotton wool...
The delicate unlaminated front sleeve ought, by rights to have at least some ringwear but it hasn't. The spine is unscuffed and completely in tact though starting to show just a little discolouring with the passage of years. The back sleeve remains steadfastly white with some intermitent portions of ring wear. None of this adds up to much but it is such a superb copy I don't want to ignore what few "defects" might be. But surely even the pickiest collector would not pass on this one. It is a classic in classic shape.
Anyway, as always, it's all in the music. And finally the world has found that this record was always a truly magnificent, rich and superb piece of music from rock's most bounteous period. It is presented here proudly in it's original first-release form.
