Description
This is the first album by The Chicago Climax Blues Band on the black and yellow Parlophone label. It is in stereo and is a first pressing on 150gm vinyl. The matrix numbers are YEX713-1G and YEX714-1G. The disc itself still has a high gloss. It has a few "in line" surface marks on track 2 of both sides but apart from a couple of pops these do not appear to affect the audio quality. There are also one or two paper scuffs. There is very light spindle marking on the labels and no hole wear. I would grade the vinyl as very good to excellent. (Please see photographs for a better idea of record quality.
The original paper inner sleeve is in very good condition.
The outer flipback Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve is in very good condition with no ringwear. The spine is slightly worn such that one or two letters are not visible and there is very minor wear to the bottom and open edges
My name and old address are written at top left of back sleeve in biro.(See photo)
In my youth I spent a number of years in Stafford England and was fortunate enough to see this group play live regularly at my local pub. When they released their first LP I bought it from new and it has been kept upright in a custom built cupboard away from light and damp in virtually dust free conditions since then. It had a fair number of playings when bought but has been virtually unplayed since - apart from the check I carried out recently prior to listing it on Ebay.
Sound quality is excellent for its age.
The LP will be sent in a strong brown LP mailer with stiffener. If you require insurance please contact me.
Please feel free to email me if you have any questions.
