Description
Recorded on August 14, 1954, this session features Clifford Brown, Clark Terry and Maynard Ferguson on trumpets, Herb Geller on alto, Harold Land on tenor, Richie Powell and Junior Mance on piano, Keter Betts and George Morrow on bass, Max Roach on drums and Dinah Washington on vocals. SIDE A: WHAT IS THIS THING CALLED LOVE and DARN THAT DREAM. SIDE B: MOVE, MY FUNNY VALENTINE; DON’T WORRY ‘BOUT ME; BESS, YOU IS MY WOMAN NOW and IT MIGHT AS WELL BE SPRING. This is a MONO recording and is in the original record jacket as the liner notes are printed in blue.
I’ve graded both the vinyl and the record jacket as Ex for the following reasons. The vinyl is relatively clean of any marks on either side, but has some very light surface marks, which do not interfere with play. The spindle hole has some marks around it but no real sign of wear. The edge of the LP has a lip in it. The record jacket is in excellent condition as the cover is very clean. There is a taped seam on the top right corner of the record jacket. There is some sign of wear on the liner notes, but it’s slight. The liner notes are printed in blue, so this may be first pressing.
