Description

CLIFFORD BROWN – CLIFFORD BROWN MEMORIAL – PRESTIGE 7055 – M-/EX – 446 W 50TH ST – MONO

This Prestige LP has two sessions. The first session was recorded on June 11, 1953 in New York and features the Tadd Dameron Orchestra with Clifford Brown and Indrees Sulieman on trumpets, Herb Mullins on trombone, Gigi Grice on alto, Benny Golson on tenor, Oscar Estell on baritone, Tadd Dameron on piano, Percy Heath on bass and Philly Joe Jones on drums. SIDE B: PHILLY J.J.; CHOOSE NOW; DIAL B FOR BEAUTY; THEME OF NO REPEAT and CHOOSE NOW (TAKE 1). Side A was recorded in Stockholm on September 15, 1953, featuring Clifford Brown and Art Farmer on trumpets, Ake Persson on trombone, Arne Domnerus on alto, Lars Gullin on baritone, Bengt Hallberg on piano, Gunnar Johnson on bass, Jack Noren on drums and arranged by Quincy Jones. SIDE A: STOCKHOLM SWEETNIN’; ‘CUSE THESE BLOOS; FALLING IN LOVE WITH LOVE and LOVER COME BACK TO ME. The address on the label is 446 W. 50TH ST., N.Y.C. The initials “RVG” are stamped on the blank vinyl on both sides. The address on the record jacket is 447 West 50th St., N.Y. 19, NY. Somebody screwed up? This is a MONO recording.

I have graded the vinyl as M- and the record jacket as EX for the following reasons. The vinyl is clean on both sides. There is very little sign of wear or marks in or around the spindle hole and the vinyl still has its “shine.” The record jacket just misses a M- grading due to some slight damage on the left side of the liner notes, probably due to a sticker. Other than that, the record jacket is M- condition, with no real sign of wear on the liner notes nor on the cover, which almost looks like new. If you have any questions, please email me and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks.

PAYMENT & SHIPPING

Satisfaction guaranteed on item. I regret that the USPS has raised their prices. The LP will be well packed. Fully packed in a crush proof box, it weighs 1.8 pounds. Due to increased cost, I have to charge an additional $1.00 for packing in the crush proof box. Believe me, it’s worth it! The method of payment is PayPal. As of October 20, 2008, eBay has decided to make PayPal the only method of payment for this item! This way, eBay has you coming and going! If you are a bidder who prefers to pay by other means, I suggest that you file a complaint! I regret the inconvenience. The LP will be shipped either by Media Rate @ $3.17 or by Priority Mail @ $5.80 and up depending where you reside. Overseas bidders should consider First Class Mail International. The cost to Europe and Asia begins at $20.45 in the crush proof box. It’s worth it! USPS has hammered overseas shipping!
