We have a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 2/3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers.
We mail all paid orders out once a week on Fridays/Saturdays. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule to Monday. We strive to keep our shipping and handling costs as close to actual charges as reasonable. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. Please be aware we have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.

Early 70's EXOTIC SPACE & PROGRESSIVE BLENDS

Scarce, nearly 35 years old 2nd exact printing from the mid 70's by this spacy underground prog/psych/Krautrock band who issued some highly respected and sought after albums around 1970 - 1973.
"Dhrana" is the third album by BETWEEN and offers a tranquil atmospheric adventure quite unique from other bands of the time period, somewhat similar to what Popol Vuh were doing in their early phase. Among various moods and sound effects, the shimmering and spacy organ work by group leader Peter Michael Hamel is found flowing throughout the long tracks.
Of BETWEEN's first three albums this is by far the most accessible. Continuing the path of their previous"And The Waters Opened" masterpiece, "Dharana" is pleasant and creative with aboe, organ and percussion leading the way.
"Joy...Sadness...Joy" is about the highs and lows of life. Percussion and aboe stand out as the organ pulses throughout. The tempo slows down after 4 minutes and we get some chanting 5 minutes in. The tempo and earlier sounds return 8 minutes in to the end. "Om Namo Buddhaya" has lyrics that are apparently a famous Buddhist mantra about bowing down to Buddha. Besides the vocals we get strange sound effects and flute. "Sunset" is a Japanese influenced and reflective with guitar melodies. "Listen To The Light" is an aboe and pipe organ led tune, overly quite nice. "Dharana" means deepest inner collection and concentration. It is nearly a 22 minute side long track. Opening with a gong before some brief eerie sounds are replaced by the aboe and percussion which lead the way. Some chanting 6 minutes in. The percussion dominates 10 minutes in. More chanting after 12 minutes. One of the best passages of the whole record comes in with we waves of sound effects interwoven into the advantureous heady creation that continues onward, right to the end of the song. Some chanting comes and goes, and water-like sound effects mix in quite well.
