We have a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 2/3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers.
We mail all paid orders out once a week on Fridays/Saturdays. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule to Monday. We strive to keep our shipping and handling costs as close to actual charges as reasonable. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. Please be aware we have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.

ORIGINAL March 23, 1963 MONO first pressing in clean condition...the second album by The Beach Boys...who were taking the 60's poprock scene by storm...
Includes the original printed Capitol inner sleeve
Before you overlook this album, you music connosieurs, and ignoring it in favour of the more highly regarded work like Today or even the wonderful Pet Sounds, you should consider a few things when listening to an early Beach Boys album. The main thing is that these albums were rushed. A band with a name like the Beach Boys, for instance, that had been able to dish out an instant mega hit like Surfin' Safari, in America, would not have been treated like gods (as the Beatles had been in Britain) but rather as a commercial band, that could not afford to spend time in a recording studio, but rather make an album with one or two good songs (to be released as singles). In fact, LP's in the early sixties in America still seemed more Taboo than anything else. In doing this, they underestimated the ability of Brian Wilson's songriting abilities, and indeed the ability of the Beach Boys as a band to make music. So although this may just seem like the album with a great title track and little else, you be warned that it actually is filled with great tracks across both sides.
Because although Brian Wilson was not given enough time to expand on his songs and make them the memorable songs that they could have become, Sufin' USA, is actually the first example of just what The Beach Boys were capable. For starters, in the song Lonely Sea we see Brian Wilson's more reserved soul, and a more personal touch to a Beach Boys song, shades of what was to come and show much more significantly in their latter masterpiece Pet Sounds. Also, it's clear to see that this rushed way of working had a negatively impact on the recording of the upbeat Lana that could have been even more popular that Barbara-Ann, with it's amazing upbeat melody. Still, the vocals sound great. This is what the Beach Boys would have worked on more significantly here on. The harmonies are absolutely flawless in songs like the title track, which is brilliant. In examining a song like Surfin' U.S.A., we must not be turned off be the mere and simple fact that this was Brian Wilson's version of the Chuck Berry timeless rockabilly tune Sweet Little Sixteen, because that would be undermining the thoughtless strike of genius that Brian Wilson had when he heard the song being played and thought it would be great to list ways of surfing that were done all over the USA if everybody had an ocean. Taking a concept like surfing, that may seem so cliche for the time but also so air headed and turn it into a charming upbeat concept for a song is something that could have proved hard to do. The Beach Boys were making surf extremely cool, but, as they said in the back of the album, it didn't have to be surfing in the ocean, but it could be surfing metaphorically or imaginatively on a soda pop bought at the shop, or a milkshake at a hip teen diner. This is music of its time. Finders Keepers in a great sing along. Shut Down is plain cool, using the teen motor gergo of the time in a way so musically and audibly poetic that not even the best of rappers today could replicate in their own situation. This is because people like Brian Wilson...was a musical legend.
Stoked and Surf Jam are amazing, they really show what talented musicians they were, and even how much they had grown up since their first record.
Do not pass this album by, this is the genuine sound of those surfing nights, the sound of the American early sixties. Surfin' Safari is simply fun, this also exhibits their talent and style more.

CONDITION: The cover is solid all over...VG++ rating would be higher (in EX to M- ) but for some little pen lines at botton corner in dark area which you don't really notice....otherwise clean, small delete drill, that's it...no split seams, no bends...collectible
The vinyl is highly glossy over both sides with CLEAN rainbow Capitol labels...the grooves are TOP level "EX" (excellent) to M- and play graded with no audio interuptions....
