CIRCUS MAGAZINE

Here are eleven rare copies of this great US-only rock magazine, which started publication in March 1969 (having previously been called Hullabaloo). It was never printed or sold in the UK, and very seldom turns up for sale on these shores. The dates on these are:

Spread across the magazines are rare interviews, pictures, features and full-page ads for artists such as Neil Young, The Velvet Underground, the MC5, Traffic, Led Zeppelin, the Stooges, Creedence, Mandrake Memorial, Janis Joplin, Mountain, Laura Nyro, Captain Beefheart, David Bowie, Flamin' Groovies, Randy Burns, Karen Dalton, Quicksilver Messenger Service, The Who, Jimmy Page, Seatrain, Fanny, the Kinks, Cactus, Alic Cooper, Fleetwood Mac, Blue Oyster Cult, White Noise, Badfinger, the Rolling Stones, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, the Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, Jethro Tull, Jimi Hendrix, King Crimson, John McLaughlin and many, many more.

 

Copies of this great mag are very hard to come by! These are mostly in great shape. Subscription coupons are missing from one or two issues, and I noticed that the June 1970 issue is missing a few pages from the centre. Three issues come with large posters intact - these are in mint condition (July 1971 - Rolling Stones / December 1971 - John & Yoko / Feb 1972 - Grand Funk Railroad).
