Spurred by the success of "My Ding-A-Ling" and The London Chuck Berry Sessions, Chess not only reissued the 1967 compilation Chuck Berry's Golden Decade, but also assembled this second volume, which contains another 24 Berry songs from the late 1950s to the mid-1960s on two LPs. Of course, the first album gathered the best-known and biggest hits, but there was plenty of memorable material left over, and this album contains the Top 40 hits "Carol" and "You Never Can Tell," the chart entries "Sweet Little Rock And Roller," "Jo Jo Gunne," "Run Rudolph Run," "Merry Christmas Baby," "Let lt Rock," "Jaguar And Thunderbird," "Little Queenie," and "Promised Land," the R&B hit "No Money Down," and such hits-for-others as "Come On" (the Rolling Stones' first U.K. single). That's more than enough to earn the album a "best" rating, although it is now out of print and has been superseded by The Chess Box.

(b)          The record is apparently pressed on a RELATIVELY  thick, inflexible vinyl. This is NOT a thin, flimsy ('dynaflex' type),  vinyl, but not the thickest, most rigid vinyl either.

(c)           Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

(d)          True Stereo copies of this album are NOT known to exist  (this is an electronically rechannelled recording).

COVER IS (WEAK) NEAR MINT, STILL SEALED AND COVERED IN ITS ORIGINAL ►SHRINK WRAP  

(A PIECE OF SHRINK WRAP IS MISSING AND THE SHRINK WRAP IS SIGNIFICANTLY RUFFLED AND DISCOMBOBULATED AND SPLIT ALONG ABOUT 70% OF THE OPENING SIDE, BUT THE ALBUM IS STILL VISIBLY SEALED AND INTACT)

-         Cover shows JUST A HINT of yellowing on both sides, apparently from aging.
