Description

Chrome: Alien Soundtracks LP (US, Siren, '77). Here's the near-impossible to find (1000 copies made, now 26 years old, most went to Europe at the time, you rarely see it locally here in SF, surprisingly) ORIGINAL pressing of this classic, my favorite by Chrome. This is the first LP with guitarist Helios Creed in tow (the previous LP, The Visitation, is a completely different sound), and has what is, in my opinion, their best ever track, "Pygmies In Zee Park", which is a dead ringer for the leadoff cut on Tim Buckley's Starsailor LP! You don't see too many people comparing Chrome and Tim Buckley, but the connection is real and palpable!! This rare "chromatic" cover (later reissues used an ugly "colorized" cover with Damon Edge's name plastered on it -- yuck!) is almost always trashed...this cover is *very* close to M-, but I'll grade it a strict VG++ due to a light sticker stain in the top right corner and a little spine flaking, and a tiny (1/4") split at the middle of the top seam, and the top right corner starting to show some minor wear. Vinyl is M-, looks and sounds super. This copy also includes the very rare inner bag with some great photos and "hieroglyphic" styled notations....this is one tripped out album! And an essential piece for any serious DIY/psych weirdo collection...you won't find a better copy, I've been looking for 18 years and this is the best I've ever had to offer, and mine is almost identical to this one!
