PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! 1970 BRITISH BLUES BOOM MASTERPIECE
CHRISTINE PERFECT
USA - SIRE RECORDS - SR 6022
=> RARE ... BRITISH BLUE HORIZON ... maybe one of the BEST of all the '60s UK blues-boom Lp's ...
Highly respected (for good reason) ... one of the greatest blues-boom era albums....and collectors all over the universe know it - rarely is the British first pressing available and exchanges hands for three $$$ figure amounts in collector circles in a hurry....
In 1968, a friend of Christine told her that her ex-bandmates Andy Silvester and Stan Webb were forming a blues band and were looking for a pianist, so she wrote to them asking to join them. A few days later they replied, inviting her to play keyboards/piano and sing background vocals in their band Chicken Shack. Christine stayed with Chicken Shack for two albums and together they scored the top 10 British hit "I'd Rather Go Blind" with Christine on lead vocals. She was given a Melody Maker award for female vocalist of the year, and she was lauded for having one of the "Top 10 pairs of legs in all of Britain". Christine left Chicken Shack in 1969 after meeting Fleetwood Mac bassist John McVie. Christine was a big fan of Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac at the time and while touring with Chicken Shack the two bands would often run into each other (they were also stablemates at Blue Horizon). Encouraged to continue her career, she recorded a solo album, Christine Perfect.
- Christine Perfect - vocals, keyboards
- Top Topham - guitar
- Richard Hayward - guitar
- Danny Kirwan - guitar on "When You Say"
- Martin Dunsford - bass guitar
- John McVie - bass guitar on "When You Say"
- Andy Sylvester - bass guitar on "Close to Me"
- Chris Harding - drums
Based in part on Christine Perfect's work with the blues-rock band Chicken Shack, in 1969 Perfect was signed as a solo act to the Mike Vernon's Blue Horizon label. She made her first album the same year and attracted considerable attention in England. (Christine also found herself crowned Melody Maker's 1969 top British female vocalist). Released amidst a flood of blues-rock material, 1970's "Christine Perfect" is a surprisingly impressive and enjoyable artifact (every track is a catchy winner!). Good luck easily getting an original these days since it's become a high priced collectable, much in demand.
