Released in November 1984, it collected the biggest hits of late ’84 and became a massive bestseller, spending nine weeks at No. 1 on the Australian albums chart and becoming the best‑selling compilation album of the entire decade.
It was a joint venture between Festival Records, EMI, and RCA, and issued with two different sleeves: white and pink.
