CHOCOLATE WATCH BAND
NO WAY OUT

When collecting psychedelic music from the 1960s, this is one of the keystone albums, part of the foundation that a collection can be constructed around, just as vital as the 13th Floor Elevators or Owsley.

This hit the streets in September of 1967, and shows that the band is very influenced by the Rolling Stones. There’s several instant classics in the groove here - "Are You Gonna Be There (At the Love-In)" and "No Way Out," a send up version of Chuck Berry's "Come On" and the rompin’ "Let's Talk About Girls."

This record is a great timepice, splitting the difference between psychedelic and the garage band sound, and this is an original US pressing in MONO on Tower Records. In fact, this came from the production of KLIF Radio in Dallas, were they used it as a music bed for their psychedelic sounding commercials. Lord knows, they never played it !

      • CONDITION: RECORD is generally VG++ and plays great, but there’s an invisible skip in the middle of “Talk About Girls” that I’ve not been able to straighten out. The JACKET is VG+ with some library tags on the spine, and a slit down the front where a hasty clerk opened the promo LP with a razor blade cutting into the top paper on the jacket. This is a great starter version of the LP.
