...... " Apparently a 1968 release, never reissued, very obscure and rare. [lysergia.com] gives the release date as 1969. Most definitely NOT a rock album even though it is likely to float in the same circles of rare late 60s psych. This is truly one of the most bizarre albums I've ever heard, somewhere in between mystical folk  new age and modern classical with a strong element of Indian music because of the use of sitar, dilruba and tanpura. It has a very non-academic feeling; it would be easy to imagine this music coming out of a hippie commune as opposed to a university, though I imagine it was probably some mix of these cultural contexts that resulted in this. With koto ,cello, bass clarinet, and flute mingling with multiple female voices, there's a rich and warm feeling. Very dreamy and mellow, . Strangely there's little percussion on the album, yet in the middle there is a quite lengthy unaccompanied drumkit solo, which is quite nice and reminded me of something out of a Jean-luc Goddard film . The  ethereal drive which permeates  the album is the abundance of female vocals in a wordless, somewhat haunting abstract operatic style that comes off as mysterious and ritualistic .  I noticed a very sarangi-like sound in the mix and I just read that it's an Indian classical instrument somewhere in between a sarangi and sitar, bowed like the former with tuning and fret arrangement close the latter. It's a fantastic sound. A real masterpiece of subtle mysteriousness! Non-idiomatic psychedelia outside of time and place. Meditative yet freaky. I've really never heard anything similar to this at all. Seriously demanding investigation by anyone who might be remotely interested in this aesthetic!  I'm pretty knocked out by this and the composing is very sophisticated. I would expect a lot of folks to give this one 5 stars . "

                              Mystic Seller Here ! Here to offer you some of the greatest recordings ever pressed      on  wax !  I am breaking up an excellent record collection , these are some of the last remnants that I will be listing , my current batch is about 50 records that must go from me so that I may make some room for the cosmic infinity , during the past 10 years I have personally funded my own education through research of the vast endless output of of psychedelic 60's culture in all micro and macro forms and still counting .. these jewels on wax are timeless ... the " living end " as they say , I have worked with such records as Kit Ream 's " All That I Am " , " Friar Tuck and His Psychedelic Guitar " , and Vampires' Sound Incoporation " Psychedelic Dance Party " not to mention , ahem .. about every charted exploito budget label private press industry indie release known within the oceans of record bins that exist throughout the earth .. and that is a minute sampling of my collector's credentials .. . I have been piecing together the puzzle pieces of the past ... but could never make entire sense of the ever broadening bigger picture , I offer these records to You , and I hope they find the right people or rather , I hope the right people find them , because I do mean what I say , so please have fun and check out my list of other auctions in the next couple of weeks , there shall be pulpy Spaghetti western Italian soundtracks , Samurai surf rock , S.E. Asian S'pore / Singapore psych freak beat freak outs , private press , cosmic spaced out transcendental themes , secret agent get away music , strange obscure abstract ethereal haunting beauty , natural progressive , time travel music , now sounds of today , hidden esoteric / esoterica , exotica tropicalia , no wave acid babbling rhyming rave ups on the prohibited use of LSD and other mind expansive enacting ways of alternative lifestyles giving way and pointing to the direction up ahead for all of us as a species of human beings , the counter-culture movements of the world do have an invaluable message and these records are encapsulated in time to speak on such things as they were once well aware of in days long since past , and thankfully preserved for future generations , but these records can only point , and a fine job they do of that ,though it is still up to us to pursue and understand the meanings of life's persistent subtle inquiries , such as who what when where why and very importantly ; how .
