Description
Very scarce LP from about 1970, on the small label "LAB Productions" in Provo, Utah. In gatefold cover with 10-page inset booklet of religious-themed illustrations by Carol F. Hill.
According to notes on the back cover, this is part of a series of Mormon recordings. It may be related to the great "Lamanite Generation" recordings, also from Utah in the 70s -- but that is only my speculation, as I have not been able to find much info beyond the sleeve notes about this rare small label pressing. I did find a posting on a discussion forum from 2014, noting that:
a) Volumes 1 and 2 of the "And a Little Child Shall Lead Them..." production: "were the soundtracks (?) to a movie project shown in southern Utah and Arizona to promote the BYU Indian Placement program, about 1970" -and- b) Lynn A. Bryson, credited on this LP as Project Director and Musical Arranger, was: [typo/grammar left intact] "known all over Utah for his LDS/Mormon youth fireside speeches about demonic backmasking conspiracies, John Lennon attempted to take over the U.S. government with a 'Spear of Destiny,' and a series of cassettes decrying eeevil rock music for Mormon youth."

The music sounds like a precursor to Lamanite Generation, in that similar style of free-flowing home-spun early 70s Christian folk/rock featuring Native American performers, including both adults on a nice variety of ensemble instruments and vocals, as well as the "Lamanite children's chorus" (the Children of Israel).
Songwriters include the producers (Lilath R. Hill and James A. Hill), Arliene Notchissey Williams (Navaho), and others. The well-spaced and varied backdrop of instrumentation includes superb guitar work throughout by Paul Encisco (Apache-Tarazco), along with some traditional elements of flute and drumming!
Condition: EX/VG+ Vinyl: EX: Side 1 plays EX but visually looks VG+ with some paper scuff marks; Side 2 is EX both visual and play, really looks NM with just very faint paper mark. Cover: Strong VG+ with no seam splits or dents just ring and edge wear (see photos) as is common with black backgrounds like this one.
