For sale here is a VERY rare LP. the FIRST(especially in this condition) by CHICKEN SHACK called " FORTY BLUE FINGERS FRESHLY PACKED AND READY TO SERVE " and is an ORIGINAL 1968 UK STEREO Pressing on the BLUE HORIZON  label. THIS LP IS MEGA RARE AND VERY DIFFICULT TO LOCATE. THIS IS ONE OF CHICKEN SHACK's RAREST LP's EVER, AND HARDLY EVER TURNS UP FOR SALE... TRY AND GET HOLD OF ANOTHER ONE!..NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS LP IS IN SUPERB CONDITION...(have a look at my photo's) THIS IS THE ORIGINAL UK 1968 STEREO PRESSING ON THE BLUE HORIZON LABEL....COMPLETE WITH THE EARLIEST FIRST PRESS  B2 MATRIXES, AND FIRST PRESS FRONT LAMINATED  RARE E.J. DAY SLEEVE ...THIS LP IS MEGA RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND - SO DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS ULTRA RARE RECORD...this is the ORIGINAL BLUE HORIZON UK pressing from 1968 and is in EXCELLENT condition!..The record is pressed on a slab of THICK black quality vinyl. The Cat no. is 7-63203 on the  BLUE HORIZON label...(have a look at my photo's) and is a UK STEREO Pressing..

Labels are the sensational sky blue- blue horizon format in excellent + condition. With the blue horizon logo to the left of the central hole on both sides of the label. to confirm that this is the very first issue of this magnificent rarity. Has some very light spindle wear. With NO damage of any kind. NO graffiti , NO rips and No stickers, and in excellent ++ condition!!!. (under closer inspection a name has been written on the B. side of which is hardly noticable)

Vinyl

Quality pressed  thick  vinyl  with jet black mirrior like surfaces That have that just pressed look!!. A magnificent vintage classic . Against a strong halogen light and angled at 45 degrees , There are NO surface marks, and NO blemishes at all,only 2 light scratches and 2 or 3 tiny faint wispy lines are visible  whatsoever. Remarkable visual and impossible to locate in this condition, and would therefore grade as very good+++!!!

Sleeve

The  rare front laminated Ernest J. Day sleeve is showing only very light signs of storage wear with some mild laminate crease to the spine and opening edge, but has NO rips, NO tears, NO graffitti whatsoever NO stickers and is a pleasure to view.The sleeve is in  Excellent  condition and a Fantastic collectors item . The Spine is straight. This is a fine example of this sensational blue horizon classic!!

Matrix Numbers     S7 63203 B2   there appears to be no matrix numbers on the A side

Chicken Shack are a British blues band, formed in the late 1960s and originally consisting of Christine Perfect (vocals and keyboards), Stan Webb (guitar and vocals), Andy Silvester (bass guitar), and Alan Morley (drums).

 Career

The band were formed in April 1965 and reputedly named themselves after the chicken coop in Kidderminster where they rehearsed; chicken shacks (chicken restaurants) had also by then frequently been mentioned in blues and rhythm and blues songs, as in Amos Milburn's hit, "Chicken Shack Boogie". Their first concert was at the 1967 National Blues and Jazz Festival at Windsor and they were signed by the Blue Horizon record label in the same year.

Chicken Shack enjoyed modest commercial success, with Christine Perfect being voted Best Female Vocalist in the Melody Maker polls, two years running.

Perfect left the band in 1969 when she married John McVie of Fleetwood Mac. Pianist Paul Raymond, bassist Andy Silvester, and drummer Dave Bidwell all left in 1971 to join Savoy Brown. Webb was also recruited for Savoy Brown in the mid 1970s, and recorded the album Boogie Brothers with them.

Although Chicken Shack went through several subsequent incarnations, they never equalled their earlier successes. Webb remains as their only constant band member.

my records are condition graded visually in accordance with Record Collector's Grading System as follows:

MINT (M): Unplayed, pristine condition, often still sealed.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in almost brand new condition with no apparent surface marks, full original vinyl lustre, and no deterioration in sound quality.The cover and any extra items are in near perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and/or packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record obviously has been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover and/or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has deteriorated noticeably, perhaps with some distortion and/or scratches. The cover and/or contents may suffer from folding, scuffing, spine-splits, major discolouration, etc.
