RECORD HISTORY: The great West Coast Cool Jazz trumpeter is playing and singing here at the absolute top of his game. This LP is a reissue of a 1956 12-inch LP of the same name. Side One assembles the material that appeared on his very FIRST JAZZ VOCALS 10-LP "CHET BAKER SINGS" from 1954! Side Two features a newly-recorded [for this album] 1956 session where he plays and sings! He is accompanied by RUSS FREEMAN, JAMES BOND, PETER LITTLEMAN, LAWRENCE MARABLE, CARSON SMITH and BOB NEEL! This album includes his stunning reading of "My Funny Valentine"! This record is perfect for BOP JAZZ COLLECTORS!
ARTIST BIOGRAPHY: CHET BAKER is, at once, one of the most widely hailed, and one of the most tragic, figures to emerge in the West Coast Cool Jazz scene in the Fifties. His trumpet work is masterful. His vocal work is cool and alluring. My friend Marty [who owns his own record company and artist management firm] and I agree that "Let's Get Lost" is the GREATEST LOVE SONG ever recorded!

May have a few tiny signs of wear on the cover and/or a few slight paper scuffs on the vinyl. Plays perfectly. EXCELLENT or STRONG VG++: light use is evident. The beginnings of ring wear will be evident on the cover and some surface scuffs will appear on the vinyl, BUT record will play with no background noise. VG++: use is evident but not bad. Cover has ring wear and vinyl has noticeable surface wear. Should play with NO surface noise during the music. VG+: average used record, looks OK, plays OK. No surface noise is noticeable during the music. Some surface noise is possible during quiet passages. VG: Cover shows more than normal wear and vinyl shows more than normal wear.
