Description
The record you are viewing is part of a collection acquired through a successful auction bid. The product purchased is from a deceased record store owner whose doors closed circa 1970, having made a run of it during the 60's. An incredibly large volume of LPs remained, many in new (sealed) or pristine condition and properly stored. These will comprise the bulk of offerings I will be posting on eBay. With a vast and well preserved inventory, it will take time to sift through and uncover the many hidden gems that await. My goal is to present these finds to eBay buyers in a timely and systematic manner. I am aware finds of this nature are indeed rare, but the fact is, the records I will be listing have sat undisturbed for over 40 years waiting to be rediscovered, shared and enjoyed. I hope you will find some items you've been wanting and can be part of, what I feel, is an historical find. All items kept in smoke-free, pet-free environment.
RARE Pacific Jazz deep groove MONO LP 1222 - released 1956
Rating vinyl a strong VG + / EX -. It retains newish shine and gloss with no play or handling marks. No spindle marks on labels. Test play on NAD C555 turntable revealed mostly clear quiet analogue sound with great presence and depth. The only sound anomalies I detected were three light consecutive vinyl inherent pops midway track one side one, then three more distinct pops on the blank lead-in wax to track two. Track three side one also had two light clicks midway. None of these detract from the overall exceptional quality of this otherwise superior pressing. The laminated cover with William Claxton photo rates a strong VG + as well. Light shelf and edge wear, especially corners, but no splits or tears. A small white rectangular adhesive remnant upper right corner. Back cover is bone white. This is Chet at his best!
