LP Celson LPQ 25005 (mono)
Milan, September 1959
listed in ARRIGO ZOLI, 1983: "Storia del Jazz Moderno Italiano" !
Jacket : VG +/VG
Flexible paper with light lamination, shows the following defetcs:
FRONT COVER: vertical tear professionally restored from "Chet's trumpet", down to the bottom edge: crease is hardly visible, ca. 10 cm. long; corners show light wear with a moderate bump on bottom right.
SEAMS & SPINE: Spine in excellent condition with no crease, tear: writing on spine is totally readable. Top seam in excellent condition, lower seam shows some wear, more accentuate on the lower flipback, on the back.
BACK COVER: quite clean, with minimal yellowing and very light ring wear, lamination doesn't show any pealing, clear and clean. Upper flipback seam in very good condition, just some light wear towards the ends. Lower flipback seam quite worn with several creases, lack of lamination in some points, repaired and glued in 2 or 3 points.
Vinyl : VG -
Visually shows many scratches and rubs on both sides, but only a few can be detected with the fingernail. Aurally the overall sound is surprisingly good for such visual conditions, with no distortion at all, even in loud passages. However a general background surface noise can be heard behind the music on all tracks, with rare pops and occasional clicks and crakles, but they never go beyond the music.
Catalogue/Label :
CELSON LPQ 25.005, first original Italian only pressing, High Fidelity (mono).
Light blue, deep groove labels with black lettering show no wear or tears, but many little marks around the spindle hole. (see scan).
Later reissued on Joker label (SM 3035).
GRADING CODE
Grading is VISUAL, under a bright light.
NM (Near Mint): Record has been opened, and probably played, but is in impeccable condition. I do not use "mint".
EX (Excellent): Has signs of use or storage, but still considered top collection quality. Jackets may display some very light wear; vinyl may have a few light sleeve marks only visible in the highest light. Sound will full and clear, with little if any noise (NOTE, some records are just pressed poorly).
VG+ (Very Good Plus): Still a great copy but has a bit more wear. Vinyl may have some light scuffs or scratches, but nothing deep. Jacket may have some ringwear or seamwear. Sound should be great, with minimal if any noise.
VG Very Good): A great play copy but clearly used. Vinyl will display many hairline scuffs or scratches, but will play with a tolerable amount of noise. Jacket may have splits and wear but will not be falling apart.
VG-(Very Good Minus): A used or worn copy, that has not been taken good care of. Vinyl will have many scuffs or scratches, but play through enjoyably despite audible background noise. Covers will have tears, splits, writing, or other issues.
VG+ Fair, Poor: A very rough copy. Will play through without skipping unless otherwise noted, although records of this grade are sold AS-IS.
DISCOMANE will guarantee an absolute conservative record grading
