Chesky Audiophile RC8 of Rca LSC-2367 -
Recommended by TAS
An incredibly fine transfer and pressing of Mohr and Layton's original master tapes, a masterwork so beautifully played.
As with every Chesky record (some of the best on the planet), please note, a console is never used. The signal simply passes from a tube-re-built Ampex 300 tape machine (better than the original Rca Ampex) to a Perfectionist tube preamp, then straight-on to the cutting lathe.
No EQ, no augmentation, no nothing.
Does it sound it? Oh yeah…first note to last: Here in a cover like new; record is near mint, if not better.
For other fine records, TAS picks and hard-to-finds, please see my complete list of offerings here on eBay.
Shipping and handling is $5 for up to 5 LPs shipped within the States. Internationally, $14 via airmail for the first LP, $4 each thereafter. (Canada is half that.) Boxes over 4 lbs., add another $6, because First Class is no longer available at that weight, just Priority Mail. Note, too, boxed sets of LPs require more postage.
