Ultra-Rare, One-Of-A-Kind
Channel 3 (CH3) 4-song 12" ACETATE
Recorded and Produced at Capitol Studios in 1984.
It contains the songs from the "Airborne" 12" EP that was later released on Enigma Records in 1984. I'm assuming it's a different mix or take of the recordings up on that EP.
THIS AUCTION INCLUDES BOTH THE ACETATE and A COPY THE "AIRBORNE" 12" EP.
Acetates are metal discs that are coated with a special shellac that, unlike vinyl records which are pressed, are actually etched into the shellac surfaceduring production. They are generally produced in the studio to test the mix/sound quality of a recording. Usually 12" in size, but sometimes smaller, they tend to deteriorate quickly without meticulous care. They are often one of the most highly sought after by music collectors due to their rarity and the fact that they often contain Rare Mixes or even Unreleased songs in some cases.
I don't have to tell you how rediculously rare this item is. More than likely no more than 1 or 2 were produced, and it is very likely this is the only one that remains.
The Acetate is in Mint condition. It is the one of the nicest Acetates I have seen, condition-wise, and surely hasn't been played more than once or twice!
The "Airborne" 12" EP and Sleeve are in Mint condition.
It's been stored properly since I bought it back in late 1984 from a close associate of the band.
The 4 songs included on this EP are:
side one:
Airborne
I Wanna Know Why
side two:
Waiting For The Sun To Go Down
This I believe it is the same track listing for the Acetate, but it did not come with a track sheet
