PHOTOCHROME (parts 1 & 2) ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by CENTO aka MARCO BALBO / MAURO LA LUCE and MERTA aka ALDO DE SCALZI production and distribution by STUDIO G. Original Italian pressing on IDEA label (ID 02), from circa late '70s. Insanely good cosmic disco / futuristic funk double-sider that captures the hedonistic / drug fuelled / electronic sound of the late '70s Italian discotheque scene. Baldelli et al would have killed for this twisted psychedelic single with thunderous Magical Ring style basslines / boom bap 4/4 house beats and phased / filtered-to-death disco dub rhythms. Proto turntablism via tape manipulation / sexy female chorus / weirdo Kraftwerk vocoder spoken word rap / spaced-out funky synthesizers / balearic guitar breakdowns - you name it, this obscure Italo disco / new wave studio group crammed it all into one single :) Great for DJs with booming production... Just choose your side! An early discovery and ebay sales item for us (pre the fabulous Dream Chimney / Cosmicdudes etc) and our last copy went straight to darkest Northern europe where it was quickly edited onto a white label 12" and re-released back into the wild :) Same cult label as Flavio Scogna - Drum's Explosion on Idea ID 03. Whatever, the amazing PHOTOCHROME is an important and desirable entry in the euro disco genre. Mauro La Luce was also the mastermind behind the Oxid Trail single on Voom Voom label too. Very rare 45!!!

Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG 

Vinyl is closer to shiny M- condition overall with a few hairlines from sleeve removal. Item looks practically unplayed. Some light surface noises to fading outro of Side A. The bizarre soft card picture sleeve is closer to M- condition overall with a little creasing from storage. Natural discoloration and some age spotting. Minimal corner wear. Very rare 45!!!
