Original l971 lp on RCA Neon (NE9) Centipede – Septober Energy. Scarce double lp from this ‘supergroup’ of British players.Lineup includes Jeff Clyne,Alan Skidmore,Brian Godding,Ian Carr,Elton Dean,Robert Wyatt,Keith Tippett,Harry Miller,Brian Smith as well as Dudu Pukwana and Mongezi Feza. Also Julie Tippett on vocals. Amazing session.No track titles but there are two superb long tracks with massive club potential.Beautiful uplifting progressive jazz as well as deep and funky drum heavy grooves.Somewhere between Nucleus and Brotherhood Of Breath to give you an idea but comparing this lp to anything else doesn’t really do it justice.Another essential piece fo British jazz history.
