Description
CELTIC FROST One Thousand Deaths Demo cover HELLHAMMER The never released first CF demo!
Good bad music for bad, bad times!
CELTIC FROST- "One Thousand Deaths" 1984 Demo Cover- Prowling Death Records 004 HELLHAMMER!
This is something that truely never has showed up before in public and it's a Death Metal memorabilium that is one of a kind. Guaranteed!
I recently found the last remaining 8 copies of the cover-sketch for CELTIC FROSTS never released "A Thousand Deaths" Demo Tape. This tape was intended to follow the only official HELLHAMMER vinyl release from early 1984, but was to be replaced by the "Morbid Tales" Mini-LP, released shortly after.
"A Thousand Deaths" never materialized beyond the point of this cover-sketch, but indeed is the first document of CELTIC FROST really; in fact this demo sketch is what links CELTIC FROST to HELLHAMMER!
Fans will notice that this Cassette was to be released on the bands own "Prowling Death Recordings" label (it bears the catalogue number "PDR 004") – the label the three original HELLHAMMER Demo Tapes ("Death Fiend", "Triumph of Death" and "Satanic Rites") were released on before Noise Records signed the band and produced the highly inflammatory "Apocalyptic Raids" 12" EP in the glorious year of 1984.
On the sheet, you see in, Tom's handwriting, the cutting and folding marks plus basic designations like "Vorderseite" ("Frontside") etc.
This is a A4 size photocopy on thick paper. It's 100% genuine first generation.
As you can see, the upper right corner of the sheet is water damaged and on the covers right section, you'll too find light yellowing from moisture.
I received these covers in early 1984 from Fischer personally. To my best knowledge, these are the only remaining copies. This information had been verified about a year ago by Martin Eric Ain.
NOTE THE BEAR: Because I felt th buyer alone should see this demo cover (after all, he or she paid for this exclusive item), I put a little Black Metal Bear (in yellow) on the actual cover. This bear is one of my only friends and will NOT be sold.
BONUS ITEMS:
As a Bonus, I'll throw in another one-of-a-kind item (it's my only copy in fact): "One Thousand Hellhammer Line-Ups" was most likely to be intend to come along with the demo (hence the title). It's a complete family tree ranging from the bands early days of summer 82 to late spring 84 (it ends with the "Vince Carretty" Line-Up). It's a photocopy, water damaged again but 100% genuine and never to be seen again!
Also, you'll get two stickers: One for the band's very first live concert in St.Gallen, Switzerland, in May of 1985. We (I was co-organizer of the gig) printed up a couple hundred of them and the incredibly nice (haha) layout was done by me actually. It's on pvc and it looks like new. The other one is a paper sticker to promote the "Tragic Serenades" tour. It has some wrinkles but doesn't come off the peeling side.
Don't ask: I will not make copies of these items to anybody! Buy the original thing and make sure it gets a good home.

By bidding, you agree to my terms of business as listed below. Please read carefully.
Grading Policy: I use the following grading system: m (mint) means that the record has not been played and was purchased factory new. This mainly applies to the condition of the vinyl record itself. Covers are only graded mint in case they still are in an unopened shrink or box. ex (excellent) means that the record has been played and the cover has been opened, but is in excellent, nearly flawless condition. vg (very good) means the record has been frequently used and may have smaller marks like scuffs and dust on the vinyl but no skips or serious damage and the cover may have slighter bends, fingerprints, ringwear or small tears (greater defects like tears will be stated individually). g (good) is actually an euphemism and means the record has major defects which will be individually noted.
Please note that what appears to be ringwear on the cover is mostly only visible on the plastic in which I kept my records and is not on the actual cover. All cases of actual ringwear will be stated!

Still, if any problems arise, I will try and work it out to the satisfaction of both sides. Many of these problems deal with formal things such as communication, payment etc. - In order to avoid hassle for both, make sure you ask your questions in a timely fashion.
