Description
Hi, up for auction here is a superb piece of (now) vintage vinyl. This is the original German 1984 release of Celtic Frost’s ’Morbid Tales LP, and according to the front cover in ‘Limited Edition’ black vinyl. J On the Noise label. Catalog # N 0017. * Please note, this does not include the 'free' poster, that's long gone I'm afraid.

The record itself has the black label with silver print. The Celtic Frost/ Morbid Tales logo feature in large font on Side 1. The track listing for both sides appears on Side 2.
As for the condition, I’m a collector myself and pretty critical when rating items. This is a used but definitely NOT abused album! On a purely visual inspection, the vinyl is in great shape. One or two marks to be expected, but no deep scratches, etc. Side 2 has a couple of light and more visible marks. Label is excellent with light spindle marks only and no damage/ink removal to the label. Other than that, the vinyl is still VERY shiny, some light static dust, and could probably do with a good clean Overall, I’d rate the vinyl at a 7 out of 10.
The cover itself is in very good ’plus’ condition. Things to note are a bend that runs the length of the left side edge of the sleeve near the spine. Caused by poor storage. There’s also a slight spider crease on the right side open edge approximately 2” long. The good news is that there are no splits, wear or repairs to ANY of the 3 solid sides. Spine is also intact and all print on it is readable and unworn. Cover is very shiny with no ink loss. Overall rating, again a firm 7 out of 10.
The paper inner sleeve is the factory original too. Printed on one side in black & white with the album artwork of the bands on the Noise label - 25 in total. These include Helloween, Running Wild, Coroner, Kreator, Overkill, Voivod, Celtic Frost, etc, etc. Condition is very good with some creasing to corners, especially the bottom right corner. Has one un-repaired ‘split’ approximately 3” long in the centre of the left side edge, caused by the vinyl wearing through over the years. Inner sleeve rated at a firm 6 out of 10.
There you go – a superb and hard to find vintage item for the Celtic Frost/thrash aficionado/collector. In above average condition I’d say for being nigh on 26 years old now.
