Description
CEDAR WALTON – Soul Cycle (1970) Prestige-7693 – M-/M- (cover/vinyl)
A great hard bop / soul-jazz / modal jazz session. Cedar was a great player, but you primarily see him as a sideman – not the leader. Just look at the line up for this one – Cedar on piano joined by James Moody on tenor sax, Rudy Stevenson on guitar, Reggie Workman on bass and fender bass, and Al “Tootie” Heath on drums. This session was recorded in 1969 and released a year later.
This is a beautiful copy. It is an original dark blue label pressing with the silver trident logo in a circle at the top of the label. The cover is crisp and tight with no wear. It has a small name written on the back cover. The vinyl is clean and glossy and looks unplayed. I grade this conservatively: M-/M- (cover/vinyl).
This is an original pressing. I do not sell modern reissues
