Description
Massive northern soul 45 gem featuring THE CASHMERES on the HEM label out of Washington, D.C., from approximately the late sixties.
Titles are “Show Stopper” and “Don’t Let The Door Hit Your Back.”
This is a stock copy, label is orange with black print. Catalog number is HEM 1000.
Condition is nice VG to VG+ with most of the original gloss remaining. The record has quite a few light scuffs and a minor hairline or two, but no serious marks. “Showstopper” plays closer to VG+ with only a slight amount of surface noise at the outset, but quiets down very quickly and plays nicely throughout the remainder. The fidelity and clarity is excellent, as you can hear in the accompanying sound clip. “Don’t Let the Door Hit Your Back” plays closer to VG due to with a bit more surface noise as well as a bit of distortion in the sound in a couple places, again these can be heard on the second sound clip provided below. No skips or loud clicks. This is a decent sounding record and I would go so far as to say that “Showstopper” is a great sounding side.
Labels show some wear and minor soiling, also there are initials placed by the original owner “DW” in neat pen on both sides.
