CARNASTOAN – Sweet Melody / Mr. Workhard ORIG Carnastoan 12” / CARN 1256 (UK, Stereo, 1981)

Happy to present this rare 2-track roots 12 from the early 80s.  Another magic Dennis Bovell production, ‘real head nodding deepness’.  I can bring this copy to you in what looks like ONCE PLAYED condition complete with its original illustrated sleeve.

The sleeve is in a solid EX (Excellent) state – no splits, writing, tears.  Not even any real creasing.  Just shelf rubs (not many).  It’s obvious this hasn’t been handled much.

The labels are near perfect.  No damage, dirt or writing.  No stickers.  Maybe one spindle trace to each side if you look super close up.

The vinyl looks near to new.  If you hold it to extreme sunlight there’s a patch of shading on the A (no effect on play) but not much else really.  Looks Mint in standard lighting but I’ll say a strong EX+ (Excellent Plus) under harsh sunlight.  IT HAS BEEN CAREFULLY LISTENED TO and plays tip-top.  No problems whatsoever – no ticks, snap, crackle, pop.  No nothing.  Great audio.  Turn it up!

I do not use any more than ONE plus or minus between grades.  After all, WHAT ON EARTH DOES VG+++++ MEAN?  What is NM+? Or EX---?   These are just some of the ridiculous gradings I’ve encountered on eBay.  I am very careful using the EX (Excellent) grade.  Excellent, by dictionary definition means ‘extremely good’ NOT ‘marked and slightly beat up with wear’!
