EUROPEAN NIGHTS (1959) is a typical MONDO MOVIE, and Gualtiero Jacopetti, popular director of such documentaries in the early 60's, joined this production as co-writer. A tour of nightclub acts in major European cities begins in Paris with the belly dancing of Princess Badia. At Le Carrousel de Paris, the female impersonator Coccinelle performs. At the Crazy Horse Saloon, stripteasers Dolly Bell, Lady Phu Qui Cho, and Lilli Niagara entertain, as do The Tongas, Swiss acrobats. La Nouvelle Eve is the showplace for the Charley Ballet. The Place Pigalle hosts the Archie Savage Dancers, an American Negro jazz ballet group; comic singer Henry Salvador, who sings Brahms' "Hungarian Dance" and performs "Dans mon île" with a group of oriental dancers; and Robert Lamouret, who entertains with his duck. In London, magician Channing Pollock performs at the Pigalle Restaurant, and Colin Hicks sings rock and roll to an audience of hysterical teenagers. The Rastellis perform their musical clown act in Milan. Domenico Modugno sings in Naples, and The Platters sing in Rome. In Vienna, the Ukrainian Orlyk Dance Group and Bandourists Chorus dance and sing to the music of bandouras. At Madrid's El Corral de la Moreria, film star Carmen Sevilla joins Gypsy flamenco dancers.

Light cardboard, strong laminated cover, in EX- condition, with both perfect flipbacks, sharp corners with no bumps or wear, seams and spine intact, except for a short portion in the middle of the spine, glued for 2 cm., but hardly noticeable ; lamination is slightly pealed on the back cover for a small portion in the centre, close to the open seam; very light ring wear on front/back;

Vinyl : VG +

The vinyl looks played with care with a few visual little rubs on both sides producing occasional and very light background noise, absolutely not intruding the music. Please, listen to my soundclips.

GRADING CODE

Grading is VISUAL, under a bright light.

NM (Near Mint): Record has been opened, and probably played, but is in impeccable condition. I do not use "mint".

EX (Excellent): Has signs of use or storage, but still considered top collection quality. Jackets may display some very light wear; vinyl may have a few light sleeve marks only visible in the highest light. Sound will full and clear, with little if any noise (NOTE, some records are just pressed poorly).

VG+ (Very Good Plus): Still a great copy but has a bit more wear. Vinyl may have some light scuffs or scratches, but nothing deep. Jacket may have some ringwear or seamwear. Sound should be great, with minimal if any noise.

VG Very Good): A great play copy but clearly used. Vinyl will display many hairline scuffs or scratches, but will play with a tolerable amount of noise. Jacket may have splits and wear but will not be falling apart.

VG-(Very Good Minus): A used or worn copy, that has not been taken good care of. Vinyl will have many scuffs or scratches, but play through enjoyably despite audible background noise. Covers will have tears, splits, writing, or other issues.

G Fair, Poor: A very rough copy. Will play through without skipping unless otherwise noted, although records of this grade are sold AS-IS.
