Description

Carl Schuricht conducts the Vienna Philharmonic in Symphony 9 by Anton Bruckner, EMI-UK ASD 493. The 12" 33 RPM stereo LP is visually graded NM with minimal evidence of play. UK flap back jacket has some ring and corner wear graded VG+. Generic UK poly lined inner. This LP was legally imported into the USA (as opposed to being hand carried) and was subject to US copyright law which required the covering of the Nipper logo which was owned by RCA North America.  This LP was very early and had the most extreme measures used to cover Nipper, ie gold Odeon stickers are pasted over Nipper on the jacket (the one on upper left front has been removed, the one on lower left back remains). LP labels have black Odeon labels pasted over original labels and such is the case with this LP. It is sometimes possible to see portions of the original or to peel  part of the Odeon label to see the original but that is not the case here. In later years stickers were placed over Nipper on the label. Matrices as noted in title are believed to be first. This is the best we can do to provide provenance for this LP.
