preserved for over 40 years by the original owner. This in-depth course is
comprised of 36 LP Vinyl Record Albums containing 72 home study lessons with
comprehensive Course Binder Manual and accompanying Textbook entitled
"Encyclopedia of Radio and Television Broadcasting -
The Man Behind The Microphone"
written by the Dean of the Directing Faculty of Career Academy
and Famous Broadcaster, Mr. Robert St. John.

Other Famous Career Academy faculty members included:
Howard Miller, John Cameron Swayze, Ulmer Turner, Fran Allison, Curt Gowdy,
Westbrook Van Voorhis, and Earl Gillespie, most of which will be heard speaking
and sharing their experiences and broadcasting success stories on the vinyl LP’s,

Each of the 36 Vinyl LP’s are in almost Mint condition,
still in their protective carrier sleeve binders.

In 1970, the use of a reel-to-reel tape recording machine was used by the students
to record their assignments onto the tape, then mail their completed lessons to
Career Academy in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for the appraisal of an instructor.
The instructor would then return the tape back to the student with his, or her
critique and comments recorded on the same tape. Anyone working with this
course material today (without the critique of an instructor) can record the
lessons onto cassette tapes.

This course covers it all … From Radio to Television:

You’ll be getting "practical" experience by writing and recording broadcast material,
recording commercial copy, studying and properly pronouncing words from A to Z in
the accompanying textbook. You’ll learn about Radio Announcing, Television Announcing,
Announcer Techniques, Reporting the News, Writing and Broadcasting the News,
International Reporting, The Disc Jockey, Sportscasting, Weathercasting, Emceeing,
Programming, Editorializing, Women in Broadcasting, How to get a Job in Broadcasting
and Much, Much More!

*  As a bonus to this course, the last cut on each vinyl LP contains vintage
historical radio broadcasts & famous speeches.  Sound bites of
famous broadcasts of events, disasters and speeches from famous
personalities that were retrieved from archived radio broadcasts.
