 Caravan is a band from the Canterbury area, founded by former Wilde Flowers members David Sinclair, Richard Sinclair, Pye Hastings and Richard Coughlan. Caravan rose to success over a period of several years from 1968 onwards into the 1970s as part of the Canterbury scene, blending psychedelic rock and jazz to create a distinctive sound like their contemporaries Soft Machine. Caravan still remains active as a live band in the 21st century!!!!.

Following the dissolution of their former band, Wilde Flowers, David Sinclair, Richard Sinclair, Pye Hastings and Richard Coughlan formed Caravan in 1968. The band became the first British act to sign for American record label, Verve, who subsequently released the band's debut LP, Caravan, later the same year. After this Verve closed their rock and pop division, causing Caravan to move to Decca Records for the release of If I Could Do It All Over Again, I'd Do It All Over You in 1970, from which the title track gained the band an appearance on Top Of The Pops, and then Deram (Decca's progressive subsidiary) for 1971's In the Land of Grey and Pink.!!!!!

 In the Land of Grey and Pink is an album by progressive rock band Caravan, released in 1971. According to allmusic.com, "it is considered by many to be the pinnacle release from Caravan." The title track is most likely the bands most well-known song!!!

The labels.

The original labels are graded as new condition features the DERAM  (DECCA SUBSIDARY) LABELS only early press)!!!!! All rights.... are featured around the label rim(only early press)!!!!!!! I can see very little amount of spidering and hardly any spindle ware at all  which indicates that this has hardly been played very (very) rare for an album that is 36 years old!!!!!

The vinyl.

The vinyl is absolutely superbe on initial visual inspection this looks like new and still retains its sheen from new!!!!!! (please note this vinyl has (not) been over played and indeed hardly played at all !!!! nor are there any signs of grooveware or distortion!!!! i have played this through track for track and the audio quality is superbe cristal clear and extreemely vibrant!!!! Visually,  infact i can barely see a blemish (no)scratches when held in very strong light(no) marks audio sounding at least i couldn't see any even in extreeme light, at least (none) that effect the audio at all!!! I have played this track through a couple of times and i never heard any problems what so ever!!!!!.The audio on this pressing in my opinion is as good as it gets!!!!!Even in between tracks there is extreemely minimal noise lovely and quiet!!!!!!! This almost plays as new!!!This is the best audio that i have heard of this pressing!!!!! I would class myself as highly critical and this is a truly exceptional sounding vinyl  by this awesome band ''CARAVAN''!!!!!!!! Please check my completed listings of records that i have sold of this calaber and you will see that i normally get it right!!!!! top! top! audio throughout!! no clicks,pops ands certainly no jumps or skips at all!!! GRADES RIGHT AT THE TOP ON ALL FREQUENCIES!!!!

This is the original ROBERT STACE PRINTED fully laminated gatefold cover !! In exceptional condition for 36 years old!!! Barely any storageware to mention at all!!! Amazingly (no) visable creases worth mentioning!!! superbe spine and the corners are sharp and square!! super glossy laminate !  very light\slight water stain on the inside of the gatefold hardly noticable that's all!!!!!! TRY TO FIND A BETTER  COVER AFTER 36 YEARS!!!!!

This is the original Decca poly lined sleeve (no) splits or tares !!! in awesome condition!!!!!

IN MY OPINION YOU WILL NEVER NEED TO UPGRADE FROM THIS AWESOME UK PRESSING!!!!!!!
