TROUT MASK REPLICA by CAPTAIN BEEFHEART AND THE MAGIC BAND on STRAIGHT LABEL

Year: 1969
On offer here from our own collection is a rare and fantastic Original 1969 USA copy of Captain Beefheart's 'TROUT MASK REPLICA'. This is regarded as the band's masterpiece and does contain some truly amazing music and lyrics, and it will never be bettered for song titles. Absolutely Brilliant! This particular copy is a Guaranteed First Issue, with the correct catalogue numbers on the cover and vinyl (STS 1053), it also comes with the original black Straight inner sleeves which are both excellent and of course the beautiful 6 page lyric booklet, which is also in excellent condition having just a few age speckles, no creases, rips or writing.
The heavy cover which normally suffers badly from ringwear is in very nice condition with minimal rubbing and next to no edge ware, it does however have a wrinkle top right (pictured). The super thick spine is clean and all text is clear and intact. The Inside cover is perfect, no flaws at all. The reverse is also very clean with just a trace of ring ware. There are no splits, writing, cut outs etc... Grade EX-
The Vinyls have only played a few of times and are in great condition, there is one very light surface scratch/scuff to side 2 probably from removal or handling rather than needle, this really is very light and has absolutely no effect on playback. The sequence and matrix numbers on the run-out areas are hand-etched and state 2 STS 1053 1/4 and 2 STS 1053 2/3 respectively. Grade EX-, without the light mark on side 2 the vinyls would be flawless, very nice copy.
