CAPTAIN BEEFHEART
Title : Strictly Personal Label : Liberty Catalogue No : LBS 83172
Matrix : LBS 83172 A/1 - B/1 Issue : UK 1st Press.
This is the UK 1st pressing of 'Strictly Personal' by Captain Beefheart. The 1st press is complete with earliest A1//B1 matrix, the earliest blue Liberty label and the original inner and gatefold sleeve.
The UK Original Liberty LP is without doubt the best sounding pressing of "Strictly Personal" on vinyl! Extremely difficult to find copies not afflicted with what often looks like unsightly 'bag rash' on 80%-90% of copies that have survived, but what was in fact an error in the vinyl's mix at the pressing plant which did not surface till many years later - This copy is fine..
The vinyl has been played and does have some light marks which show when held up to a bright light so I'm gonna conservatively grade the Vinyl - EX- (but I think most people would grade it as EX as it still retains a nice sheen and sounds fine! )
The Sleeve is exceptional considering it is "45 YEARS OLD!!!"
Sleeve - Certainly EX+ (Possibly EX++)
